Caledon Pandemic Update

Peel Region Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Lawrence Loh made it clear that Caledon is not immune to exposure or risks of COVID 19. He also confirmed that all of Peel Region is in a second wave. This isn’t the news we wanted or hoped for.

I am committed to keeping Caledon informed and will be hosting a Town Hall session on November 10th at 6:00pm with Dr. Lawrence Loh. You will be able to attend and participate online or by phone. Details will be posted soon.

I’m gutted for the small business owners who have had to close or adapt again. These are people who’ve put their life savings, time and everything into their businesses and who have supported our communities. This morning I spoke to Dr. Loh again and asked him to confer with Dr. Williams, Ontario’s Medical Officer of Health, about Caledon’s numbers and risks. Specifically, I asked if they could look at how our restaurants and gyms could re-open safely.  I was assured he would do that and provide more information soon.

In the meantime, we are heading into Halloween weekend followed by Remembrance Day and the Holiday season; this is the time for us to again limit social interactions to our household circles. We do this for our family, our friends and our community.
